you know what i really need to do? be a consulatant. for things like movies, tv shows, or just decision making in general. and you know why? because i'm good at it. shall we do an example?
tremors: when the last tremor thwarts their dynamite plan (which, really, should they be that smart that one instance would teach them what to do? if they were so intellegint, there would be more than just 4), and pops up in front of Kevin Bacon and the other guy, instead of making noise, why don't they shoot the thing? I'm sure, given a bit of time, I could come up with a much better logical sequence for killing the tremors. I would be rolling in Oscar gold! Ashley & I could team up and combine our names...this has promise. and OOOOH, white squall is on! google it -- it's full of hot young boys that i'm probably too old to lust after in their movie-age.
in other news, kristina had her birthday last night and - despite my truly vicious-smelling burps - i had a great time. ashley, in particular, regaled us with witty remarks and tales all night. i have to say, after playing poker with a new group of people that i enjoy poker with my flagstaff friends much more. for only playing with a $5 buy-in, they were WAY too serious about their rules. so, flagstaff people who read this: set up a game soon, i'm ready!
in other, other news, friday i had a great time with my girlfriends and mdt even ventured out to what he thought would be a toilet-papering, but was really a heart-attacking. it was amazing fun nonetheless. thanks everyone who made it out and fingers crossed for a doubletree day on march 7th!
Let's finish this off with a return of Michael says: "You couldn't even find Tremors in HD? What kind of movie-watcher are you?"

lamest, lamer, & lame
lamest: trying to reconcile the large possibility of getting RIF'd and the near certainty of not teaching either A. early childhood B. at Marshall or C. Both. Worse, yet, possibility D. Not at all. Boo
lamer: eating too much junk during wickenburg days & realizing that all my working out is really doing nothing for me
lame: going back to planning, as my student teacher is finishing up next week. do you see the contrast between 'lamest' & 'lame'? i don't really want to do any work, but i don't want to be laid off either :)
i haven't posted in a while (which is really the lamest thing), but i've been overly consumed with trying to make plans for what i'll do after the next few months. it's exhausting and i've come to the hard conclusion that i'm an anal-retentive freak who can't function without having a good idea of what's to come.
my usual coping strategy is to just pretend like nothing is wrong (it works wonders!), but i have a feeling that might not work this time (e.g. dropping thousands of dollars i won't be earning on wedding things--assuming i'm engaged sometime soon--or not preparing myself to move out of state if mdt gets another job). clearly, this leads to me being generally pretty Eeyore-ish this past week and therefore a real drag to be around.
so i'm currently looking for a new hobby to occupy my free brain-time. currently it's "panicing". previously it was "pretend wedding planning" (which is out for lack of stability). any suggestions as to what i can think about/doodle on the internet with in the meantime?

snow day
let's flashback to a month or so ago....mother nature said "here's a crap ton of snow & snow days.....enjoy!!!! tra-la-la-la-laaa." fast forward to today.... "oh no, my darlings!! the snow is almost all gone; the days are pretty warm......here's some more snow -- more than before! tra-la-la-la-laaa." however, today's snow day was far more enjoyable than the last ones. here's the rundown:
: after our 6am "don't-wake-up" call (as i like to think of it), mdt & i slept until 8ish
: we lounged until 9, making fun of matt louer & that crazy octuplet mother (which was more rage than making fun)
: around 10, mdt had enough of watching morning talk tv and we went out to get some things for my mommy (a package is coming mother!!)
: we got home & had lunch (leftovers of THIS CREAMY CHIPOTLE TORTELLINI recipe from picky-palate.com)
: on an impulse we braved the insane weather and saw Coraline, a good choice indeed! i could watch movies with the nightmare-before-christmas kind of animation every day -- they entrance me. AND it was a more interesting/better story than the corpse bride so mdt & i were both pleased.
: we saw john & krista on the drive home, where i realized that NAU cancelled classes for the evening, so no exercising for me! instead, i made COOKIES from cookiemadness.com while mdt shoveled our parking spaces
: for dinner we had THIS BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA from cooking light, but with lots of added veggies (mdt has fully converted this girl)
i'm ending my evening slightly crabby, because school is cancelled *again* tomorrow -- goodbye april vacation! also, what am i going to do with myself? i don't care what people may say, a 4-day surprise weekend is just not very fun. especially when i didn't have the forsight to space out my snow-day activities.
aah, well. i guess i'll s-l-o-w-l-y flip through the bride magazine i bought earlier today and make exaggerated circling guestures so mdt can notice the things i like (in actuality, i will say "hey! look at how cute this is!!")
i leave you with this picture of the epitome of my friday night (i went to a random party, can you see how much fun i'm having?!)

"i have two fingers...."
so it's been a few days, but i can trust that you all know i wouldn't leave you hanging. i was merely biding my time until i found something truly worth posting. and here it is! meet Little D, a young buck who's coming back from getting a tooth removed from the dentist.
this is the reason i will be procuring and carrying a video camera once i've got kids. you never know when they are going to be HILARIOUS (is this real life? is it going to last *forever*!?!)
in other news, i curled my hair this week & it was adorable. mdt & i watched another 4 episodes of veronica mars & it's almost the end of the series :(. mdt subbed for chris and people have been telling me for days how cute he is (yeah!). i showed mdt my secret wedding plans file after much internal debate to find that he *already knew about it*! on the upside, at least i know he's down for the count.....anyone who knows about a crazy-person-secret-wedding-plans-file and still is planning on marrying said crazy person is awesome.
finally, if i have to watch another ER commerical i'm going to explode. please end so i don't have to hear your melodramatics anymore!!!
