i saw this....

{source}

and I really liked it. I wish she still sold that print, because I'd buy it and hang it up in my classroom and make people look at it (for when I need to get over it and for when THEY need to get over it -- SCHOOLS RUN ON PAPER AND COPIES OKAY?!!!!)

In other news, last night Michael and I went to Red Rocks Amphitheater last night to see Yonder Mountain String Band. It was a lot of fun - we made some friends with the people around us, dancing a whole lot, and drove all the way home really late at night. Red Rocks is beautiful, but I think I prefer The Orpheum.

Last, but not least, LETS DO THIS:

Fall, Winter & Spring
Summer
Coronado
John & Christa
Late Summer & A Wedding

Boo-yah! mollsballs out!

JOHN & CHRISTA!!!!

john & christa came to visit us right after i got back from coronado/mesa. we had such a great time having them stay with us. i really think that their visit is the reason i've adjusted so well to colorado - i was able to ease into it. we miss you soooo much!

we went to garden of the gods; john was right about something before we read the plaque (to be fair, john was right about a LOT of things that week); some chick was on a leash?!

the next day, we rode to the top of pikes peak on the cog railway. it was a close call to even get on the train and a pretty rough time in john's life. once there, we enjoyed the view and the gift shop with animal masks; rowr!

COORS BREWERY! enough said (except that everyone got wristbands with their name, except john. irony at its best)

after the brewery we went to camp at rocky mountain national park for the weekend. it was great - no one was eaten by a bear! the hike we went on was intense for some, but the view was amazing. AND i got to wear my new bathing suit!

Late Summer & A Wedding

in late july we went to the farmer's market alot; i got my new classroom; visited a bunch with michael's family; and sister-in-law emily had her baby shower.

michael's friends derek and amy got married in california in august. his other friend, ryan also had a birthday

because michael was in the wedding (seriously, look at all those dudes!) we helped set up all those little balls hanging from the trees; me, julianna, and jaquelin - the girlfriends

dinner was nice and calm and fun. i really enjoy hanging out with michael's friends.

then the dancing started and things got cah-razy! i only wish i could show the photo booth pictures

Coronado

in early july i visited chris and the boys at her mom's home in coronado. it was a very prestigious invitation and i had the BEST time. it rained the whole long weekend and i didn't care. it was great to see chris, betty (her mom) is so great, and i still love those little boys - even if they were totally themselves [read: super irriating]. next summer, plans are already in the works to return, perhaps when fenner's there and i can bring michael.

they were definitely not this cute in the car ever again after this moment; we went to the USS Midway and explored life on an aircraft carrier; we went to la jolla and saw seals; the boys could totally care less about me:

learning to roller skate. please note gray's face when fly falls down. i don't think he's ever been more pleased:

dinner is the reason i want to come visit again! the table is always set (this photo is from when i did it); betty always made salad with HOMEMADE dressing - a different kind every night!!; those candles were seriously lit every night. please note the bottle of wine. it was a staple and every night we drank more. man, i miss it already

i did go on to visit home in mesa, which was equally amazing and therapeutic, but i unfortunately have no pictures...

Summer

after many AWESOME good-bye events (of which I have no pictures), we moved. please note the biggest picture: after an hour-long gas stop michael's dad (who was traveling behind us) brought me ice cream. I was loving it, Michael was over it

we hiked a 14-er (mt. sherman is over 14,000 feet, note the snow) and it was ROUGH. we looked happy at the summit, but i think you can find the picture of how i really felt:

july brought the greatest 4th of July cookout ever: cinderblock firepit, woot!

Fall, Winter & Spring

we had halloween: rockin out as rainbow brite

there was christmas with the tills

new years was pretty much amazing! tony, kristina, AND ashley were all in attendance:

we went sledding with the lemoyne-yarboroughs:

i had a birthday: candles in my shake AND my burger (btw, mmmmm diablo burger)

i traveled to colorado for michael & i's 6th anniversary: super awesome german food resturant

24 August 2010

last night....

the universe bitch-slapped me and told me to buck up. this is what went down:

molly & michael are brushing their teeth.

*POP BANG!!!*
m&m: "what?!"
michael investigates in the guest room. a cider bottle has exploded (sidebar: we made hard cider a month or so ago)

molly & michael begin to clean up.
molly: "do you think the big gallon jug will burst?"
michael: "no, i think it's okay. .... maybe the top would pop off, but it's okay."

molly and michael continue to clean.

*KERSPLOSION!!!!*
molly: "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!"
michael ducks and covers.

yes. if you guessed the glass gallon jug of hard cider burst into about a million pieces. it shot straight into my tailbone, but i was wearing clothes so no cuts, just a wicked bruise. michael wasn't wearing a shirt, so he's got some pretty awesome scraps and one cut on his back that looks like a knife wound.

also, our house smells like a frat house. gew.

so, thanks universe, for telling me to stop being a whiny bitch and buck the hell up. (see jen, i could have said the "f" word, but i didn't! :) ) i promise i'll be happier in the future.

ps. it was hysterical after the shock wore off. i'm actually laughing about it right now.

22 August 2010

so here's the real deal

i fucking hate my job. it fills me with rage to even think about it. since i'm working about a 60+ hour work week (seriously, all work and NO chatting this time around) it's usually all i'm thinking about. summer was great - i went on great vacations, i saw my great family and friends, and i had a great time lounging around the house with michael. i'd love to tell you guys all about my favorite things and show you pictures, but i'm consumed with work. and when i do have some moments without it, i'm usually so fucking angry that i couldn't write a fun-loving post if i tried.

so, i'm sorry that i've left anyone who reads this in the lurch. but i can't blog regular right now. I may post things here from time to time about how much my job sucks balls (so michael can get a break from my bitchiness) but i'm pretty sure no one will want to read it.

and you don't have to say "oh molls, sorry you hate everything", because we all have had jobs we hated before. i'm just a big baby, who apparently has anger-management issues. i love you all!

ps. can i say one more time: fuck!
