Whoopsy-doodle

Yeah, I forgot I was supposed to be bloggin'. I know, you are the color of surprise now. The little bit just woke up, but I sent his Father to deal with that, so I've got a few minutes [or mere seconds, they are here now. No worries, they're going to watch Bering Sea Gold.]

Here's what we've been up to:

1). Trying like mad to get Fenner to walk. Normally I tell myself I don't care about "milestones" and "timelines" but he's started to display signs that he's ready to move on to the Toddler room at daycare. These signs include, but are not limited to: tantrums, defiance, sitting on babies, general crabbiness. There are some openings in mid-January, so brother's got to move it, move it. Good thing he walked 2 steps free-style this morning.

2). Making peanut butter balls. I definitely stole this holiday tradition from Chris and I will proudly pretend it's my own. The process looks like this: [mixing peanut butter & sugar] "I love making peanut butter balls! It's so easy!! [dipping balls in chocolate] "I hate making peanut butter balls! This is bullshit!!" However, people go bananas over those little things & I'm a praise-whore as we all know.

3). Co-hosting my school's holiday sing-along assembly as an Elf from the North Pole. A 4th grade teacher asked me to do it with him (I'm pretty sure he's my new work best friend). It was, like most things I'm involved in, amazing. We came up with a bunch of jokes and acted ridiculous and the kids ate it up. It's widely know that Mr. Bell is "so cool", but now I am "kinda like Mr. Bell" (that's an actual quote, from an actual student.) Chris, this isn't work best friend cheating, because you are still infinitely cooler than Mr. Bell or myself.

Sorry for no pictures, Apple products refuse to be helpful with posting photos. But, I can leave you with this...

Michael says: "You should start a business and sell those peanut butter balls. You can call it 'Molls-balls Peanut Butter Balls'."

The misadventures of traveling with the Tills

How to have a Misadventure:

- Make sure to book your first flight so that you have to wake up at 4am to get the airport on time
- Do not, I repeat, do not know how the clasp on your stroller works. It's more fun to figure it out at the end of the airplane ramp.
- Plan a lunch with your best girlfriends, but plan it at the end of your son's naptime. Don't consider that he will sleep late because he never does! Go to lunch without your still asleep son.
- Leave one of your carry-on bags under a seat at the gate. Don't discover Pick a bag that has little monetary worth and items that are just essential enough to cause moderate levels of chaos. Say, shoes suitable for a wedding, phone chargers, and toiletries
- When buying new shoes at Target, make sure you find super cute ones that will try to murder your feet. High heel vendettas against big toes are so hot right now.
- Take your toddler to a Catholic mass wedding ceremony. Have him yell "UH OH!" during a prayer. Offer to nurse him and get a breastmilk spot on your silk dress.
- Be meticulous about getting the airport early for your 7pm flight home. Don't check ahead to make sure your flight is on time; you'll enjoy the surprise of a 50-90 minute delay when you check in!
- Above all else: enjoy the ever-loving crap out of your vacation. Love your cousin for dog-sitting, leaving the lights on, and putting fresh sheets on the bed. Love your family for their generosity, delicious food, the way they take care of your kid, and their willingness to pick up your lost luggage and fed-ex it to you. Love your friends for letting you crash at their place, bother them at work, and fall asleep on their couch before Castle is over. Love your girlfriends for taking time to go out to eat with their sweet babies and their pregnant bellies and their funny stories. Love your in-laws for schlepping you around to weddings and airports. Love your kid for being a trooper and sleeping through 2+ hours of wedding DJ jams so you can dance your ass off and drink a bottle of wine. Love your husband for wheeling the baby around the airport during your delay so you can blog for the first time in 6 months.
- If you're going to have a mis-adventure you better enjoy it!

So, if I blog 3x a month for the next 4 months, I get to rent a dress for the next wedding we're attending in April. If this kind of self bribe can work for flossing, it can work for blogging!

Finally, thank you to Chris and Natalie for starting me on a shame spiral so I would blog again. Love you girls!
