poorly

inspection went poorly. ensuing discussion with michael about options went poorly. decisions were made, but not happily by all parties. outlook is grim. blech.

p.s. snow + cold + serious discussions - long walk = dog is still awake and bananas. sooooooo, dog is also poorly.

i fell off the wagon

of posting everyday, but i ran really fast and caught up.

i think maybe mdt and i have mono or something - we are Always Tired. we both fall asleep at 9pm every night, pretty much without fail. yesterday, a friday for pete's sake, i fell asleep at - wait for it - 8:45. 8 fricken 45! i'm such a loser. i think we need to start drinking afternoon coffee or caffeinated tea or something because this is just sad.

today has been much better. cooley was only a little bad (he jumped on the bed and mdt lost his shit. he's convinced that cooley jumping on his pillow gave him pink eye and he's totally paranoid that he'll get it again) and once he settled down we got to have a nice snuggle time before getting up.

i got to talk to one of my favorite friends, chris. first about happy things like cheesy toast and then sadder things, like my friend's seriously damaged appendage. nevertheless, i was happy for the phone call. AND because i talked to my mom, dad, and sister in the past few days (plus internet correspondence with ashley), i'm rocking on my resolution to KIT better! woot.

mdt went off to a workshop for a few hours, so i took cooley on our saturday walk to the bakery around the corner. cheese on rice, that place is soooo delicious. i am very sad about moving because we won't be having salami cheese rolls, nutty chocolate pastries, or pizza zunges every saturday any more.

"moving?" you say. "why, yes, moving!" i say. our offer was accepted on a house and we signed enough pieces of paper to look like a movie manuscript and we set up an inspection for next week, so things seem right on track. here are some pics

30 in 30

michael is doing this thing called 30 in 30, starting in March (which is him spending 30 nights outdoors in his 30th year of life. p.s. my man is going to be 30!). i am doing a different 30 in 30. I heard about it from Caton, who heard about it from Kendi Everyday.

I decided, hell everyone these days is taking pictures of their outfits. why not me? [if you didn't click on the links, 30 in 30 is dressing in only 30 articles of clothing for 30 days]

if you think this is boring and/or don't want to see pictures of me everyday (although, why wouldn't you?!), don't worry - i'm pretty sure i won't follow through. i slack off in most areas, so this shouldn't be too different.

anyway, here's today:




suuuupppperrrrr exciting! sadly, this outfit only saw the light of day until 10:30 am when i was mercifully sent home from work with a killer migraine. it was awful. and even MORE awful was all the people asking me if i was pregnant! so this will probably repeat in the near future.

p.s. we got counter-offered. but we're gonna counter-counter offer their asses right back. boo-yah, don't mess with the Tills!

um, yeah

so,

we picked out a house.
we rolled around really big numbers.
we picked a number.
we (mostly me) worried a bunch.
we used the mouse pad to electronically sign some contracts (which ended up looking hysterical).
we wait until tuesday to see what happens.

we're in the midst

of buying a house, which is a huge shit show and means i'm spending most moments calculating and looking and re-looking at photos and fretting about being an adult.

IT'S ALMOST FRIIII-DAAAYYY

thank you for your kindness, krissy, but i feel like yesterday's post was L.A.M.E. i have thought a lot of thoughts today, so here they are:

1. frothed milk coffee is bitter until you let it sit. then it is sweet. also, you end up drinking it later in the day (perhaps this is why i've thought so many thoughts today?)

2. the administration at my school are straight up crazy-ass fools. work has become a total shit show. and in case you think i'm a big fat whiner, every person i've talked to this week has had the same pissed off, incredulous look on their face that i do. this week has just about pushed me over the edge. it's a good thing that...

3. ...today, my little friends were writing words under pictures. one of the pictures was a mouse trap. a girl brings me her paper and it says "BiBl". yeah, that's right - Bible. for the mouse trap. i died.

4. i am a technology master. my pandora station wasn't working. did i get upset? no! (well, a little) then i cleared those cookies & that cache and - BAM - i owned that bitch!

5. i also scienced the hell up today. i know what i'm doing each week for science from now until may AND it's all going to be age-appropriate (thank you CUBS2) AND i'll meet most of the district's lame-ass standards. boo-yah!

6. i am MUCH happier at work when i'm left alone to plan. maybe i should become a curriculum writer? i'd probably make a lot more money.

7. it makes me really sad that the little girl in tucson died. i almost cry every time NPR talks about it (which is once every 5.4 minutes). i am really happy that the congress women is not dead. i am really sick of people fighting over stupid stuff (like how everyone's fighting about how we fight over everything!)

8. i took a day-quil this morning and am feeling really good. maybe there's wine in my future.

9. it looks like a Cooley-shaped tornado blew through our house. is that what it's like to have kids?

10. i love love love the skirt+tights+boots combo. i am forever in Holly's debt for showing me how it's done (and you can tell her that!)

oh yea, i'm pretty sure that's a better post. ima go eat a celebratory cookie.

* our dog. he's a little bitch, but he's so cute

on the resolution front, i'm doing great at posting more frequently and semi-great at eating veggies (i had a salad tonight with artichokes AND dressing that I Made Myself - long live Betty!) hopefully, my success will carry over to tomorrow when i go back to that cesspool i begrudgingly call "work".

p.s. FLY we are working hard on figuring out what a video of cooley licking us while eating raisins and crackers would look like and i'm sure we'll have some financial backing for a production like that pretty soon. maybe in the meantime, we could get a look at the video of michael super hungover?

resolutions

these are the things i'm going to do this year. unless, you know, i don't.

* keep my bitchy mouth closed so i don't get fired
* get a new job
* post more frequently (caton, you are my blogging role model)
* call/email/facebook/blog comment my friends and family more often
* teach the dog all the tricks in his dog book
* eat more veggies
* sew one thing
* decorate one room for real in our new house
* visit chris, my family, michael's family, my girlfriends, & flagstaff during the summer

i'm hoping these things will happen. they seem within reach, but you all know how i never quite reach all my goals (how many times have i said i'll post more?) in other news,

1. have you ever had tater rounds? they are the most delicious kind of tater. michael & i decided it's because they are flat and have more surface area touching the pan so they get crispier.
2. hopefully we're going to see nephew k next weekend & i'll have more pictures.
3. we got a camera for our computer for christmas. enjoy the fruits of kirk & janette's labor:
