friends, let me tell you about a little thing called 'vampire weekend'. (this has nothing to do with twilight). while i hate to classify bands into a certain type of music, i'll try to do it for you since i know people love that labeling crap: they are a kind of pop-rock, indie, with some classical orchestra sounds, and also African influences. they call themselves "upper west side soweto" (which is a combo of manhatten & an african city). even michael likes them & he is hard to impress.
the reason i go through all the trouble of wikipedia-ing them is to encourage you to get their cd. now, i will tell you this: i have not bought a music cd since about the 8th grade (god bless online downloading) and i am stingy with my music dollars. but i made the conscious effort to go pay $10 for it - and that was kind of fun.
so the lesson for today is two-fold my friends!! 1. go buy vampire weekend, it will make you very happy (chris, this is at the top of my list for classroom listening) 2. do something you haven't done in a while, it will exhilarate you (like buying a cd & ripping off the plastic)
now here's some good music (**warning: they are in video form, but the picture is stand-still, so don't try to watch)

tv shows are only allowed when both actors have been a reoccurring character for five or more episodes. So Sam waterson would have worked if i was so inclined. Also, I could tie John Belushi to Tina Fey through SNL even though they weren't on the show at the same time. Or I could do Tom Hanks on SNL because he hosted five or more times. Trust me, i've thought this through haha
wow buying a cd and riping off the plastic, haven't done that in yrs!! It really could be exhilarating!
