SPRING BREAK.....in a non-sunny place. poop

last night, i was reunited with my old friend, dance dance revolution. it was pretty much amazing. i'm still good (thanks to all those training sessions with kyle; i was a nerd). but i think my favorite part was the idea that my parents play ddr without anyone there to watch them. it's just two very grown up people throwing down in their living room. i love that.

last night, i got to eat some delicious panko-crusted chicken. it was so good, i'm shouting out to the cook right now: holla, krissy!

last night, i got so sweaty from ddr, that i showered before bed, which i rarely do. and i rarely do it, because when i sleep on wet hair, i wake up looking like this:

it's like i'm stuck on the LOST island, except not as pretty. although i wonder, would i get a sunburn? because their hair always looks good, no one looses weight, no one grows any facial/body hair....could it be that i wouldn't sunburn at all? that pasty claire would be red as a lobster! if i wouldn't burn, i'd seriously consider going to that place. ...if it were real (michael and i are dangerously close to obsessed. we watch 2-3 episodes a day - hello withdrawals over spring break! - and talk about it constantly. michael says things like, "i'd be cussing all the time, like 'let's catch a damn boar motherfucker!' why not?!" and i wonder about sunburns.)

and my final word for today is that we're piecing out to colorado in the hopes of finding some place where michael can move some of our massive pile of crap. i say hope because the outlook is dim. so this week when you're lounging, or shopping, or sunning, or swimming, or being dragged through China Town (or worse, working you poor non-Spring-Break bastards), stop for a second and hope we find something that is not a shit-hole. thanks

the nasty "c" word

yeah, i said it today. the one that rhymes with 'punt'. and i used it in reference to an actually person. you might be thinking, "whoa, mollsballs! watch that potty mouth - but you at least you feel bad about it, right?" and i would answer your thoughts with this thought: "no! i felt completely satisfied when i said it and i'd probably say it again."

it's so wrong. how do i have just an evil place inside me that some people can penetrate with such ease? i'm a feisty girl, but i shouldn't be throwing that word around. but, seriously, i meant it - this grown woman is 11th-grade, gossip-hound, smack-talker, fake-bitch CW-bad-television. and *nobody* sees it!

good thing i'm peacing out to Springerado (yup, i'm trying that one on for size). would it be terrible to oust her before i go?

in other news, i made a dobostorte for michael's birthday (balls! he's 29!). it was square - which translates mostly to weird (it's "shapes" check it out at 55 seconds). also, something funky happened to the frosting, so it's.....squishy? i can't describe it, but i can say i'm disappointed. i think that's the pull of the 'torte: every time you get something wrong, so you Just Keep Making It. On the flip side, it's still frackin' delicious.

in other, other news: we've started LOST season one. what the hell's going on?! it's agonizing, because we have so far to go - at least we get to watch them back to back. seriously, we were flipping channels the other night and filthy-claire was pulling jin out of a bear trap, before sayid & kate faced off to locke who was leading an army of people. wtf, mate?

oh wait, i didn't tell you?

mdt and i are going here:

that's a place called colorado springs. to the west is a place called woodland park. they, along with the colorado state forest service were smart enough to offer mdt a job forester-ing. so away we go, eh?

mdt will scoot out of town a bit before i do, because i've got, you know, 22 little chipmunks to look after. they won't fill their little cheeks with nuts by themselves (and by "cheeks" i mean "brains" and by "nuts" i mean "knowledge")

i've been trying to keep this on the semi-down low, mostly because chris is fostering the delusion that michael won't like it & i'll need to keep my job. but i'm a terrible liar and am it's just such a huge deal that i'm going for it (although not on Facebook, because people I work with are on their and....what if i need to keep my job?)

so whip out an atlas (or google maps) to plot the route that will get you from wherever you are to our new home. (what shall we start calling it? the springs? cos? colings? springerado?) it does get warm there and i know Catie says she'll visit! (ladies, are you coming too?)

finally, our most normal friends the L-Y clan have offered to host a good-bye bash for us/mostly michael soon, so if you want to get in on that let me know. Also, fenner: michael said it was ok.

blerg

quarter to one in the morning, updating my resume, trying to be patient with jilted hulu watching.....isn't very fun and mostly kind of pathetic. also, in other news, wildflower bread company cupcakes are yucko

let's get real

first, thanks for the concern folks & especially for endorsements of physical violence. i love that! the outrage stems from the "debate" over whether or not the citizens of flagstaff should raise their property taxes by around $50 a year to keep our schools worthwhile for children.

here's the lowdown. right now the flagstaff unified school district has an operating budget of $64 million, with the state having the ability to make cuts every 6 months. the state is looking to pass a new budget with cuts to education (proposed at $133 million), which equates to $12.6 million+ for fusd. additionally, fusd is losing $3.8 million with the previous override phasing out. so if we don't get the $8 million override and the legislature cuts their full amount, we'll be left with a budget around $47 million. it costs $44 million and change to operate at "bare bones". so here's the programs that "core schooling" DOESN'T include:

-full day kindergarten
-responsible thinking classroom (for severe behavioral problems)
-elementary art
-elementary music
-elementary pe
-elementary band
-elementary strings
-athletic programs for high school
-athletic programs for middle school
-alternative education programs
-RTI (reading intervention)
-childcare at high schools
-camp colton (a 6th grade retreat)
-technology & tech support
-district administration (superintendent, etc)
-district administration (hr, etc)
******HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPALS
******
-high school assistant principals

-high school support staff (secretaries, etc)
-high school counselor
-high school librarian
-high school nurse
******MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPALS******
-middle school assistant principals
-middle school support staff (secretaries, etc)
-middle school counselor
-middle school librarian
-middle school nurse
******ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS******
-elementary school support staff (secretaries, etc)
-elementary school counselor
-elementary school librarian
-elementary school nurse
-high school extra curricular courses (fine arts, etc)

let's all close our eyes and imagine a school WITHOUT a principal, secretary, or extra "specials" (music, pe, etc). WTF, am i right?! so i'm supremely fed up with all the jackass-ery surrounding the so called debate of whether to vote for the override. there is NO debate. either we vote for it and get to have these so-called "extra" programs or people don't vote for it and the children of flagstaff are boned.

and yes ashley, all those people deserved a big punch to the face. :) hopefully there will be a return to lightheartedness and tomfoolery in the next few days around casa de molly y molly.

ps. a big shout-out to my dear friend's left boobie! huzzah!!
