i *LOVE* him

some people say (including myself sometimes) might say "why, oh WHY, would you want to go through planning & having a wedding?" the reason is this:

i spend all morning farting around, getting dressed, playing with my hair, and spend absolutely zero time even talking to michael. he leaves for work & i finally emerge from the bedroom to make my lunch & eat breakfast. what do i find? my lunch, fully packaged & ready to go, and even full of things i like and are GOOD for me (plus a snack!).

he is TOO GOOD to me & i'm so glad i've got that locked down! so, that is the reason why we're having an actual wedding: so i can show him off to everyone we know & they can all bask in how great michael is.

good day, sir

I've been gone so long

Want to know why? Go over to www.michaelmolly.blogspot.com - it's the wedding blog I set up and, while I haven't hit the updating groove yet, it's what I'm spending the bulk of my time on. (weddingbee.com you have a totalitarian hold over my internet usage!!) See the post titled "anal.retentive" to see what I've really been up to.

On the other hand (the hand that is still firmly grounded in the real world), work has been a right bitch lately. The ups & downs of having a job or not took a crazy tool on my mental and physical health & I blame the stress of it all for the wicked cold I came down with last week. I was sick for nearly a week, including several days of incapacitating fever.

This past week was a blur of being heinous to my students and being in a huge shame spiral about it (to be fair, I was sure they totally deserved it, until Chris & Holly told me that every kid is acting like that). We went on a wild, rainy field trip which was a LOT of fun & I have been unofficially, very tentatively confirmed to have a job at my same school next year.

In conclusion, I'll be trying to update more frequently & about things that are funny. Michael wants me to start compiling all my teaching stories into a book that will help us retire early (such stories include: "Meanest Teacher in the World", "The Pooper", "The Butt-Sniffer" and many more!) the most wonderful time of the year...

it's summer movie time!!! last night, we went to see Wolverine: Origins. I have never seen any X-Men movies, read any comics, and don't particularly lust over Hugh Jackman, but I was stoked to see it because it's the beginning of what looks to be a promising summer movie season. Wolverine was great, for primarily two reasons: the fights were awesome and the dudes were hunky!

Let me classify what a summer movie means to me. It's a movie that, in a nutshell, allows my brain to just go "oooooohhhhh!" for about 2 hours. Sometimes it's got cool sound effects (Wolverine's blades or the Transformer "ch-ch-ch"). Sometimes it's got hot boys (okay, well almost always). Mostly there are explosions and/or crazy action fights. And most importantly summer movies are 100% fictional - things happen that could never, EVER happen in real life, which therefore makes any gratuitous killing more acceptable to my brain.

Upcoming summer movies include Star Trek, Transformers 2, Terminator (maybe), and Harry Potter 6 (although this doesn't technically qualify as a "summer" movie in my book it still comes out this summer). Does anybody else just love summer movies?

P.S. a post is in the works about my cousins' 21st birthdays & mdt and i's 5th anniversary as soon as i can make blogger's picture function work for me!!

nee-ners & skelnik turn 21 / 5 year anniversary

last weekend, two of my cousins turned 21. ashley drove up from gilbert for the festivities as she turned 21 during the week (in a really awesome hot pink dress that i must borrow sometime soon!) it was a fun-filled weekend and god, do i love picture posts, so see below!!

additionally, yesterday was mdt & i's 5 year anniversary - holy macaroni (as a kid at school would say to correct himself after yelling 'holy shit!' on the playground -- true story!) we had a "romantic" candlelight dinner on tuesday of lasagna and wine and most importantly No.Wedding.Tasks. last night we went to Diablo Burger, which is a place down town that serves all local food (the beef is from about 40 miles away and the produce is local, etc). it was a little pricey ($7.50 for burger & fries), but totally totally delicious!! the burger was awesome, their toppings were great, and the fries were out of this world. special bonus? they asked us a bunch if we liked it and the swivel chairs went up and down! i recommend going there (maybe in october, hmmmm?)

side note: i just learned that i have a flickr account. when/how did this happen? i do not know, but i'm happy about it! EDIT: not so happy since it inexplicably cuts off parts of pictures - I'll never be posting flickr mosaics again!
