an award? yes, please!

Thank you (I think) to Caton for tagging me up with this award.

1. Why did you create your blog?
Most of my friends had them to keep up to date with info on their lives and husbands. They were all "Wife name & Husband name" and, being the narcissist that I am, I figured I'm interesting enough to fill the role two people on a blog. Thus, Molly & Molly was born.

2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
I read friends' and family blogs. I also read a couple fashion blogs or blogs of strangers who just talk about their life or post a lot of pictures. I like to read blogs that make me laugh. Hyperbole and a Half is a good one and so is Pretty All True.

3. Favorite brand of make-up?
I wear whatever is the cheapest at the moment. I did have a brief love affair with Bare Minerals, but only because my mom bought the stuff for me. I just pick up whatever my sister, Kristina tells me to.

4. Favorite brand of clothing?
I don't know if I have a brand. I shopped almost exclusively at a place called Basement Marketplace and all their brands are ones I'd never heard of. If I could, I'd shop more at Ann Taylor Loft because the pants fit well and I love the crap out of their cute tops.

5. Indispensable make-up product?
Gah, concealer! I look like death if I don't have it on.

6. Favorite color?
I like different colors for different things. Blue and purple for clothes, brown for decorating, and green in general.

7. Favorite perfume?
I do not wear perfume, as my husband once told me I smelled weird with it on and he liked my Molly smell (which might have been a hint at me to shower?)

8. Favorite movie?
You should ask Ashley, she can tell you what I should be liking. I can't think of any off the top of my head. I just like things that make me laugh.

9. What country would you like to visit and why?
Spain, because I've never been there. Germany, because it's the Motherland. Russia, because maybe I'm a communist?

10. Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?
Weird question. I am a blush-aholic though so I would definitely need to forget mascara - it'd be way obvious I was missing blush.

Here are the rules:

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award

2. Answer 10 questions

3. Pass it along to blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy

4. Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award

The blogs I'm passing this on to in no particular order (Catie, how can you take my own sister?!)

gah

i tried to write you all a post, but it was just a rage-fest against how much i hate the responsibility of owning a dog. it was pretty pathetic. also, michael took the camera on his adventure (which is pretty much a direct cause of me railing against the dog), so cute pictures of nephew K and a surprise letter i got in the mail are not available for the old picture-post standby.

so, instead i direct you elsewhere. go read www.catonann.blogspot.com. she has the super hero power of finding internet pictures. and she has endless links on her sidebar to waste time on. or read www.doubledigitgreatness.blogspot.com. she has cute outfits and says fashiony things (beware the pictures, they link you to the dreaded perez hilton website!) you could go to www.skelnikmovies.blogspot.com to help you add to your netflix queue. you could even read the archives of www.hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com because she is hilarious. or maybe www.damnyouautocorrect.com?

those are all the places i've been to endlessly this afternoon (hoping to avoid doing work and/or creating a list of crap we need to do for our new house. oh, wait? i didn't tell you we're closing on that sucker soon? well, yes. we are.)

p.s. after nearly 2 hours of crying, frustration, and tantrum-throwing, i leashed the little dog bastard. and, now, 10 minutes later he has laid himself right down and is snoring. i've got some serious issues.

p.p.s. i asked cooley to come join me on the couch for cuddles. he declined. i think he's mad.

p.p.p.s. i made my list of things to do to move. yay, me!

zombie dogs and other stuff

i went to bed early last night AND i took a very long nap (with the dog, on the couch, with me, all cuddly, and michael knew, and was slightly jealous!), so i am awake. michael? not so much. he is a sleepy fella - and sadly did not finish his reading {have i mentioned my main man is back in school for his masters degree? he's taking one class and seems to be hating it. hurray for when he's taking 3 classes *sarcasm*}

anyway, here are some things to think about.

a.) last night i had two dreams. the first one was very scary. there were zombies trying to get into our house. i was terrified, but my dad (yes, Kirk, not MDT) was just washing dishes and all "no biggie. just stay away from the windows". and, then, Cooley appeared and he was a Zombie Dog! ohmygod, he was fighting his way into the bathroom to get me. so terrifying. i had to actually wake myself up from this dream to recover. it was 4am.
when i fell back asleep, i dreamed that michael surprised me with a trip to belize. like, "wake up, honey, we're going to belize right now!" all i packed was a bathing suit and some type of cover up. in the airport, my mom was the flight attendant taking tickets. she kept telling me to tell all the people in belize that she was sooo sorry she couldn't make it this time, but she had to work. like she knew all the people in belize. weird.

b.) we had a seriously good day, even though i had an inexplicable breakdown when we couldn't find bruschetta in a jar at costco or the grocery store. i was *really* whiney. we early-morning dog-parked, napped (see above), watched an insane amount of "american pickers", grocery-shopped, and baked/did dishes. also, i neglected pretty much everything i brought home to work on for next week (except baking those v-day cookies for snack time on monday).

c.) after dinner, we watched a very seriously in-depth show about Bigfoot. mdt felt that he most likely exists and actually knew many tidbits that i did not (did you know bigfoot throws *rocks* at people to get them to go away?) i always thought it was a ridiculous idea. a species of giant ape-men, wandering around the world and we have no idea about it? here are some pretty savvy questions
:why haven't they found any by now? apparently, there is a man-sized species of ape living in the congo that no one knew of and took a year to get evidence that they existed. so if sasquatches are more intelligent, they should hide easily. mdt says that lots of animals teach their offspring to stay far away from humans. we only know about other large mammals because they show themselves.
:how do they not have any bones or remains? they actually have found some remains (like a GIANT ape/gorilla/whatever in china from which sasquatches most likely descended). also, mdt informs me that in the wet climates where they are sighted, decomposition can happen pretty quickly and if they are hiding themselves, it could explain why they aren't easily found. (plus, i think if they are so smart, maybe they bury each other?)
:but, still? really bigfoots? i think not! actually, the real science** on the show did make me think twice about my skepticism. and native americans/ancient eastern peoples report and record large apes in primitive ways, so that pretty much seals it for me. native americans don't lie with their wall drawings!
so, in the vain of mythbusters, i call this one "plausible". sadly, i don't know the show's conclusion, because mdt needed to read and we turned it off. of course, he read only 2 pages. but it was long enough to miss conclusions. bummer.

d.) tomorrow we're going to denver to visit with the sils (sisters-in-law) AND baby k. i <3 babies - even if he's got pink eye (again). don't care. baby!

**i'm super into "science" these days. ever since i took a science course last year, i've been really into anything that is scientifically proven. it's like alton brown or sam waterson (aka jack mccoy). oh, it has real, actual science to back it up? gotta be true. moving on...

but, seriously folks, you can't get around real science.
